I don’t post many beauty related blogs unless it is something I feel strongly about, and in the interest of full disclosure I did receive my Smile Brilliant Products for free, but I truly do think the Smile Brilliant teeth whitening product is quality.
For years now I have used Crest Advanced Whitening Toothpaste and on about three occasions I have used their whitening strips (not within the last two years). While I have generally whiter than average teeth I rarely felt that the whitening strips were making a noticeable difference and I spent a lot of time researching other teeth whitening products and considering having it professionally done by my dentist. I didn’t end up pulling the trigger on purchasing/using any extraneous whitening products other than my toothpaste until I was approached by Smile Brilliant. Here was my experience…
The Process:
Smile Brilliant sends you a kit with which to make your own molds. After creating your custom imprints you mail them back to Smile Brilliant and they provide you with your teeth whitening trays. You are provided with whitening gel and desensitizing gel in syringe form. My teeth are not incredibly sensitive so I was able to leave my trays in upwards of an hour and skip the desensitizing gel and never had any issues but it is huge perk for anyone who suffers from sensitivity that wouldn’t be as readily available through other whitening methods. You can leave in your trays anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. As of my “after” picture I have used 2 syringes of the whitening gel, or about 6 sessions of whitening, and left my trays in anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I chose to whiten right before bed or before a night out just for the sake of convenience but the process is super straightforward and flexible.
The Results:
My results were great. For years my biggest issue with my smile was the yellowing near my gums but within finishing my first syringe the yellowing noticeably disappeared. A dentist friend of mine messaged me asking about Smile Brilliant as she was skeptical that it was any different, other than the custom trays, from your normal whitening strips. After sending her the active ingredients she informed me that Smile Brilliant was actually a stronger whitening formula than the strips I had previously used AND the custom trays were integral to efficient whitening and after using the product I completely agree. Not only do the trays help hold the whitening gel on to your teeth closely and evenly, they are way more comfortable and easy to use than strips which often move around or fall off during the whitening process. There was a much bigger, more noticeable difference between using the Crest Strips versus Smile Brilliant.
