The Perfect Watch

I have owned three watches in my lifetime. The first was, I’m sure, some pony-themed, rainbow plastic watch that probably came attached to one of the many horse journals that relatives purchased me throughout my childhood. The second I got for Christmas while in highschool. Yes, you’re right, it WAS a rose gold Fossil watch that matched perfectly with my fake designer sunglasses and JCP wardrobe. So I went watch-less for about 5 years because honestly who actually knows how to tell time on on an analog watch? Just kidding… but after having succumbed to the pressure of my peers, allowing myself to rock the rose gold Fossil watch, I decided the next time I get a watch it will have to be unique (Maybe vintage, maybe a Rolex, if by 25 I’ve married a wealthy, Texas oil tycoon and need to tell the time only so that I am able to show up fashionably late to get on my private jet, or maybe just something that makes a little bit of a statement).

The Julep, Linked Below

I’ve never been one for the smart-watches, I don’t care how many steps I’ve taken and the look of them doesn’t really do anything for me. I refuse to buy anything Micahel Kors other than shoes and sweaters, so having ruled out the two most popular watch brands for my socioeconomic standing, I had to think outside the box.

MVMT

MVMT positioned themselves well in the watch market. They have a wide reaching niche with affordable prices and an extensive variety of designs, both men’s and women’s. So for someone who doesn’t use watches to tell time, the design and general quality are the two things most important to me. In MVMT, I found just what I was looking for. The watches are good quality. Most designs have a high end look, sturdy quality and are generally affordable, the majority of their watches being in the low to mid 100s.

High Quality Watches for UNDER $200

I’ve linked some of the more “chic,” MVMT watches I’ve found so that the fake, marbled, blank watch face with the neutral beige, grey or leopard patterned band isn’t your only option (and if that’s what you like, MVMT makes about 60 of those too).

_______ The Julep________________ The Gimlet________________The Paloma

These are my personal favorites, I personally own the Julep! They’re so chic while maintaining a low profile. The easily removable links make finding the perfect fit simple and quick.

______The Hayden_______________The Skylar_______________ The Charlie

These watches are timeless but different. It’s very rare that I see someone wearing a watch with a rectangular face. These are strikingly unique and the linked band is a very classy touch.

______ The Aubrey________________The Blair ________________The Peyton

If you love the rectangular watch face but want to be able to dress it down a little for everyday use these are some adorable options!

If you’re looking for something with a vintage feel this watch is for you! When you want to match it to some cute, leather boots, distressed, dark-wash jeans and a chunky, knit sweater this band works PERFECTLY and if you want to switch it out for something a little dressier there are a couple other band options that would be perfect for any occasion.

The Figueroa

And to sum it all up, I figured I would include at least one “basic,” watch for y’all…you’re welcome

    1. If you click the link associated with the picture it will take you right to the MVMT website, I know it is under $200, though.
